The Prestressed Group specializes in the manufacture of
hollowcore floor and roof slabs for a variety of
applications in low- to high-rise commercial,
industrial, and residential construction.
Hollowcore precast/prestressed slabs meet or surpass the
high-quality requirements of industry-wide building
standards. Hollowcore slabs have a minimum
two-hour fire rating, plus they're manufactured with
non-combustible materials, lowering personal risk and
property damage and increasing the potential for reduced
insurance premiums.
Hollowcore products allow for flexibility and
versatility in adapting to other precast frames and can
also combine well with structural masonry walls, steel
framing, or cast-in-place framing. Combining
high-compressive strength plant-cast concrete with
high-tensile stressing strands allows for thicknesses
from 6" - 14" and column-free spans up to 50'. The
continuous voids are engineered to reduce weight while
improving structural performance, and can also act as
heating/cooling ducts and raceways for electrical wiring
The hollowcore slab's smooth ceiling surface requires
caulking only on the joints and with a coat of textured
paint, a professional, clean finish is achieved.
