The Prestressed Group supplied product for the third to
fifteenth floors of the new Detroit Motor Casino Hotel, each consisting
of approximately 15,500 square feet of 10” hollowcore
plank and 3,600 square feet of 10” solid slabs, for a
total of approximately 200,000 square feet of 10”
hollowcore plank and approximately 47,000 sq. ft. of 10”
solid slabs.
This is a completely steel structure, and the precast
planks were designed to
stabilize the columns and to act as a diaphragm for each
floor.
A quick delivery was required, and approximately 4,000
square feet of plank were shipped to the job site per
day, resulting in precast planks being completely
installed in fourteen weeks.
