Project Manager:  Maurice Adoranti

General Contractor:  Carillion Canada Inc.

The Prestressed Group is contracted to provide girders for three separate bridge  structures   over Highway 11  near  Burks Falls, Ontario.  The first  structure  is  at  Pevensy Road,  which  required  twelve 146-foot long girders, each weighing approximately 160,000 lbs.  to  be produced.  This is the largest piece ever produced at PSI, and required two 600-ton cranes for installation.

Shipment of each piece was achieved as an over-sized load utilizing specialized rear-steering dollies.  Each load required a police escort for the entire trip, from Windsor to Burks Falls, which is located in the Almaquin Highlands, north of the District of Muskoka,  .

Installation went without a hitch, and was completed in the budgeted two days.
