Helping make a better tomorrow. The Prestressed Group recycles plant process water and incorporates supplementary cementitious materials into our concrete mixes. We also use recycled glass instead of sand for abrasive blasting of architectural panels. Other initiatives adopted by The Prestressed Group include recycling paper, cardboard, containers, batteries, electronics, and motor oil, as well as an increased reliance on electronic documentation to avoid unnecessary printing/plotting. Through energy-use audits, The Prestressed Group has implemented a steam-curing enclosure system and installed energy-efficient, motion-sensor, activated lighting.
Doing our part. Employees of The Prestressed Group donate to various charities throughout the year, including the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Downtown Mission, and others. Along with sponsoring less-fortunate families during the holiday season, The Prestressed Group finds innovative ways to raise funds for different charities adopted monthly. The company also supports breakfast and snack programmes for children. For the breakfast programme, on behalf of The Prestressed Group, employees volunteer to set up, serve, and clean-up breakfast weekly while positively encouraging the students at a local elementary school. |
